Nonna Angelina was a very wise and simple woman that ran her Trattoria like was the kitchen of her home and treated her clients like family.  Nonna’s recipes were simple and tasty, prepared with excellent ingredients, she was so fussy about them that only the best would reach her table.  She used to say: “Let the ingredients work for you, if they are good, you will have a great dish”. And: “If you can’t recognize what is in your plate, don’t eat it.” She also used to tell the story of the dish she prepared. Nonna made the meal a journey of life: where and how she got the ingredients, why they were so good, when she prepared a special meal and for whom. So when the food reached the mouth it was like a long time traveller reached HOME!

I’m going to try to save this marvellous heritage that Nonna left my family, by passing it to you.
